Securing our goods and possessions is essential as there are always people around who are willing to take advantage of careless security by helping themselves.

Several simple rules to follow:
- never leave a bag unattended or place it down
- make sure you have the handle well secured on your arm
- if you have a long strap, place it diagonally across you body
Try not to leave cash and cheques on your premises, particularly overnight.
Takings should be deposited regularly but at various times. Professional thieves will soon pick up on regular schedules for trips to the bank.
Consider installing a safe that is securely fixed to the floor with bolts or an industrial strength adhesive.
Many ATMs have sensors attached that detect even the slightest movement and then trigger an alarm. If you have electronic security system in your business, see if a similar monitored sensor can be attached to your safe.
