Cappo Bros Seafood – History in the Making!
The Cappo family were early migrants from Italy, with our original business being a partnership of six brothers founded in 1919 at Port Pirie, South Australia ~ Pioneers of the Seafood Processing Industry.A year later the business shifted to Grote Street in Adelaide operating under a canvas marque, although it continued to source fresh seafood from the South Australian coast and from the interstate network they were establishing.
As this team of brothers retired, a second generation of Cappo's incorporated the business as a private company in 1969.
The 70's saw Cappo's make a definite move towards expanding distribution to the foodservice sector, assisted by its move into our current day factory located on Glen Osmond Road, Parkside in the mid 70's.
A major recognition of Cappo Bros quality and service commitment was realised in the early 1980's when the firm was appointed as Seafood supplier to Coles Supermarkets in South Australia and the Northern Territory. A continuing partnership we value to this very day!
The late 80's saw our firm become a shareholder of NAFDA Pty Ltd, the largest Foodservice group in Australia.
Cappos is now in its 3rd generation of management – a team that has guided the business further forward by attaining both Quality Assurance (AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000) and HACCP accreditation.
